| TraiNDE UT - "Blind Blocks" package is now available | ||
|
EXTENDE is happy to release a new package of 4 exercises available within TraiNDE UT: The "blind blocks". These blocks correspond to specific educational blocks, which consist of thin planar specimens including holes of various shapes inside. The trainees have to figure them out by inspecting the blocks from their 4 sides, with only the set of conventional probes! Using these blocks with TraiNDE UT enhances their educational interest even more, thanks to the ability to switch very quickly from one probe to another, or with the possibility to display then hide the cross section view. This increased interactivity will make understanding the signals a lot easier. More information on these blocks is available in the related Application Case. |

A functionality has been developed in CIVA CT to reduce the computation time of tomographic configurations including Monte-Carlo calculations (allowing to take into account scattered radiation). This option allows to import Monte-Carlo calculation results with a variable positioning step. It is thus possible to refine the calculation of the scattered radiation on irregular regions or strong variations in thickness and, conversely, to widen the step on flat or quasi-planar areas where the thickness is constant.
